Faith & WorshipA time of expectancy, and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. Check out Advent prayers and Advent resources
In this Advent of expectation
draw us together in unity,
that our praise and worship
might echo in these walls
and also through our lives.
In this Advent of expectation
draw us together in mission,
that the hope within
might be the song we sing,
and the melody of our lives.
In this Advent of expectation
draw us together in service,
that the path we follow
might lead us from a stable
to a glimpse of eternity.
Advent is the season of waiting, longing, and hope. It prepares us to celebrate Christ’s first coming at Christmas while also teaching us to live with expectation for his return.
The downloadable Advent Studies available on faithandworship.com are on a wide variety of themes, but all have plenty of material to keep a group occupied, with lots of discussion questions, full colour artwork to enhance study, and prayer suggestions. Several pages of prayers for those struggling with life in so many ways.
"Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15)
I bring to you my body,
muscle and sinew,
artery and vein.
bone and joint,
the miracle that is me.
I bring to you my brokenness,
and ask for healing,
restoration,
freedom to be
the person I could be.

We often find Jesus pausing in his journey to speak with individuals - men and women, rich and poor, insiders and outsiders, the confident and the ashamed. He listens as much as he speaks. He notices the people others pass by. He doesn’t deliver pre-packaged answers but draws out hearts, questions, and possibilities.
These encounters show us that faith often begins not in the crowd but in the conversation. These five studies look at how the Bible can help in our understanding of this theme.
The five studies have plenty of material to keep a group going for an evening. Lots of discussion questions, artwork, notes and suggestions for prayer. Individual studies copy onto 2 dble sides of A4 paper for ease of use, or are easy to view on mobile devices.

In the meeting of our lives,
be the focus of all that we are.
In the singing of the hymns,
the prayers that we shall make,
the reading of your Word
and the preaching of the same.
Speak to us, encourage and forgive us.
In the meeting of our lives, Lord,
be the focus of all that we are. Amen

In the noise and pace of everyday life, it can be hard to pause long enough to hear God’s voice. Yet those quiet moments alone with Him can become the most life-giving part of our day.
Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s simply time spent with the One who loves us most. Setting aside a few quiet minutes each day can transform the way we see and live each moment.
You are the whisper in the breeze,
calm voice within each storm,
the lamp inside my darkness
and guidance along this road.
You are the hidden treasure.
You are the pearl of great price.
You are the one who occupies
the God-shaped hole within my life,
that no other can ever fill.
