There's a range of prayers, old and new, for the season of Summer (which it is for some of us!) - check out with this link
The warmth of the sun's embrace,
the gentle breeze swept in by incoming tide,
the rhythm of seasons,
of new birth,
death and recreation.
All these speak so clearly of your love,
your power
and your beauty.
All are expressions of your creativity,
and more importantly of yourself.
As an artist might share his personality
within each brushstroke,
so within the myriad colours of a butterfly's wing
you share the exuberance of your love
Advent is the season of waiting, longing, and hope. It prepares us to celebrate Christ’s first coming at Christmas while also teaching us to live with expectation for his return. The Church’s lectionary readings lead us through this journey, helping us see both our deep need for God and the sure promises of his salvation.
As the weeks unfold, the readings invite us to repentance and preparation, pointing us toward the coming of God’s kingdom of peace and justice. They lift us into joy as we glimpse signs of God’s restoring work - healing, freedom, and hope for the poor and broken-hearted. Finally, Advent assures us of God’s presence through the promise of Immanuel - God with us.

An early Harvest Festival used to be celebrated at the beginning of the Harvest season on 1 August and was called Lammas, meaning 'loaf Mass'. Farmers made loaves of bread from the fresh wheat crop. These were given to the local church as the Communion bread during a special service thanking God for the harvest.

This is your garden, Creator God,
A thing of beauty
Beyond understanding ,
A poem that is being written,
Not in words,
But in colours,
Wind's whisper,
Soaring bird,
Snowdrop's petal,
Gentle rain,
Sunlight's warmth.
This is your garden, Creator God,
A thing of beauty
Beyond understanding.
"This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.'" (Zechariah 7:9)
Grant us a willingness
to speak out for the weak
and vulnerable.
Grant us a readiness
to point out the corrupt
and indefensible.

While the term 'church' is not explicitly used in the Old Testament, the concept of a gathered community devoted to God is deeply embedded in its teachings.
Old Testament prophets spoke of a future gathering of God's people that extends beyond Israel. Isaiah describes a time when all nations will come to the mountain of the Lord to learn His ways, pointing to the church as a global community of believers. So it is that we understand the importance of a gathered community devoted to worship, a covenant relationship, and obedience to God.
The five studies have plenty of material to keep a group going for an evening, explores the NT understanding of 'church', and what it means for believers today. Lots of discussion questions, notes and suggestions for prayer. Individual studies copy onto 2 dble sides of A4 paper for ease of use, or are easy to view on mobile devices.

A blessings is great to share with those we love, as well as an ending to a service of worship!
The peace of God be in your heart
The grace of God be in your words
The love of God be in your hands
The joy of God be in your soul
and in the song that your life sings.
Let the majesty of the Father
be the light by which you walk,
the compassion of the Son
be the love by which you walk,
the presence of the Spirit
be the power by which you walk.

Giving thanks to God in our worship and lives
Creator and Redeemer
You did not plant the seed of this earth
Into the universe as if by chance.
It was your hand that placed it here,
Your plan to grow it here.
You did not populate this earth
With a people made in your image
Purely by chance,
It was your hand that placed us here,
Your breath that keeps us here.
You did not come as a tiny child
To walk this earth as if by chance,
It was your Love that brought you here,
Your Grace that saved us here,
Our Creator and Redeemer..

In the meeting of our lives,
be the focus of all that we are.
In the singing of the hymns,
the prayers that we shall make,
the reading of your Word
and the preaching of the same.
Speak to us, encourage and forgive us.
In the meeting of our lives, Lord,
be the focus of all that we are. Amen
Into your presence we come,
God of Grace and Peace,
who was, and is and ever shall be
the eternal One.
Into fellowship we come,
bound together in the love
that died and rose again for us,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
Prayers of thanksgiving for the offering during worship
We bring you only what is yours, Creator God,
that you might use this offering and the giver
for the building up of your kingdom
and the glory of your name. Amen.
